Thread regarding Robert Half International Inc. layoffs

Layoffs TODAY

A round of layoffs and demotions happened yesterday and today. Word is that there will be a 10% reduction in workforce. Can't confirm the percentage but the layoffs are happening as we speak.
Staff all across the board and up to high level directors. Some employees with 25 years at the company.

Everything is a sham—Robert Half siphons our vitality and joy, tormenting us with a veneer of cheer while exalting hollow triumphs like ‘behold the dials,’ a charade of success.

It’s a good ol’ boys club. Many tenured employees were cut this round. Primarily tenured women with a sprinkling of men to appear balanced. The challenges start at the top. Reorg after reorg…nothing changes.
It’s not the people, it’s executive leadership.

can’t wait to see the Hunger Games victors roll into Vegas next week. Nothing says ‘tribute’ like a red carpet and a buffet—may the odds be never in their favor.

The comment "Top performers move on, while others simply vent. " is a perfect example of the myopic, cruel, and trollish mindset that exists at RH. Avoid this company.

They laid me off in 2023, from Corporate not Recruiting side. Before the layoff, they preached "Every employee should have a career/growth path because we care about your career path." So I pursued this since my path there was unclear. I wanted to learn more, I wanted to grow and develop and contribute even more than I was to that dang company. I was on a large team that felt like a sorority -- the work I did was completely ignored by my manager's manager, while others were constantly and publicly lauded, making those of us who weren't in the "In group" feel like we didn't matter. I'll never work for them again, and I tell people to avoid contract work with RH.

Take a look around—companies everywhere are laying people off. That’s just the reality. Top performers move on, while others simply vent. I’ve been laid off twice, so I know what it’s like. If you’ve been with a company for 15 or 20 years, you should be even more grateful.

RH is the same jackhole mentality at the most senior executive levels. Micromanaging 🤡's , more nimble organizations will continue to kick your a-s!

At Robert Half “it’s all about the people”……..until it’s not. Blind loyalty is demanded but never given in return. The logic behind this most recent round of cuts boggles the mind. 20-25 year, top performing, loyal soldiers shown the door by way of a phone call. A company that markets “ethics first” and “Best Places to Work” is laughable.

Responses now appearing in our safe space from the Rhi abuser. If only you were better. employees just needed to perform and look in the mirror. Employee appreciation week, you are valued until you age out.

Departure from any company is both good and bad. The common denominator for both is the person has control. Control to resign and control to perform!
Responsibility to perform is the most overlooked as most people in this position sadly refuses to look at their reflection in the mirror and they hear and see what they want.
Most of you are still in a recruiting position, so ask yourself how you would give guidance to a client in a similar position and if you conclude something different then maybe its time to change your career

They burned us out and as one of the remaining ones, I am being asked to do more than ever in these markets with less staff.

Speaks volumes if a company who is supposed to help place people couldn't help at least try to place people into roles with their clients. (Former employee)

I'm still here after this round of layoffs, making 60% of my bonus, getting asked to grow 10% with less staff than we've had in 5 years. We have a lot of good people, but unfortunately we're being led by folks who haven't worked a desk in 20 years. Leadership is very out of touch and has zero visibility in to the day to day challenges of this volatile market. This company will be around for a long time because of our name brand, but we'd accelerate much quicker if we removed the old guard and promoted more field leaders.

The firm has not been the same since Max retired. His motto’s “ethics first” and “people are our most valuable asset” left with him.

The new BT leader is guiding the direction of the structure. They used his POV to decide who to cut from BT, FOW, marketing and product. They got it wrong. As time will show.

Protiviti is doing well. Different leadership. Their teams, like IT are small and mighty.

Terrible leadership from top down. CEO has no plan and no knowledge on what is actually happening at desk level. He surrounds himself with yes people who are even more clueless, but keeps them in roles because they are sheep yes people. Firings should have happened at top removing the people that have made cr-p decisions to allow RH to have 11 quarters in row of decline. business is going to continue to decline for years until the dinosaurs running the company get the boot.

I got laid off in April of 2020, 2 weeks after they had a company-wide meeting explaining to us that they had 6.5 billion dollars in the bank and that they weathered the 2008 downturn without any layoffs and that there would be nothing to worry about. I guess I was glad to get out when I did. Now this week many of my former peers are being removed from their positions some of whom have been there for 20 to 30 years. First Staffing Company they just do not understand the nature of Staffing. A very poorly managed company lots of cronyism if you came up through the ranks and worked out in the field you were protected. I would not wish that company on anyone

I’ve seen 3 mass layoffs in 3 years. Things definitely not going well. I hope the good people move on before it comes haunting again. Sinking ship.

Scheduled a “Business Update” with more than 24h, stressing me out for the whole time. Managers played d-mb, people I never seen before called and didn’t show much preparation but a standard script.

Terrible handling of a mass layoff. Ending with a “we ask you to not comment about this call to anyone as many of this calls are still to be made”

Great people, gaslit all the time. Growth is an illusion in corporate and a pyramid scheme on the field.

The whole culture is toxic. Spoke with people in my team and everyone wanted to leave. Just got let go, and damn, I’m sad but I feel happy I get a chance to find another company to work for. They don’t care about their employees…
