Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The grass is greener on the other side..

Hey folks,

Just wanted to write all the current Intel folks and tell y’all a few things. For those who want to stay, I really wish you guys the best of the luck but it really isn’t looking like there is a light is actually at the end of the tunnel for Intel from the outside.

For those who are hesitant of leaving because they got used to Intel and it is there “safe zone” emotionally. Trust me I felt the same, however, after 6 years at Intel, I have been emotionally and physically exhausted between the politics and the emotional toll of constant layoffs. For the last round of CPM, I literally made it a personal goal to apply to 5 jobs a day and behold, I had two offers for a higher pay package because of it. When I left Intel, it was a little scary, but now after a few months, in the new role, I am happy again to see that my hard work does payoff and I having an impact again on the market, consumers, and the business. No more managers, trying to steal credit for my ideas, and no more clique work culture where all middle managers look out for themselves and circle j**k themselves over the weekend while playing with our lives.

The point of this post is, if you are hesitant of leaving, it is completely understandable, but take the leap, the grass is actually greener on the other side…

@m6 Makes ya wonder why you’re gonna exist after Intel because a person in today’s society is worthless without a job. As you say, Intel is the ultimate c0ckblocker on that. And choosing to not exist is better than forced existence as a Worthless.

There is no grass on the other side for most of us. So many refuse to hire Intel refugees. Intel is a career ender. Sure a few able to survive and find something new but it’s such a small percentage compare the hulking mass.

this is not true
look around, companies are continually shipping tech work overseas, probably india, for immediate profit due to cost of labor
see qualcomm, jp morgan, ...
this is probably an actual employee trying to get rid of competition or hr trying to get out of paying severance

Don't forget that people have been moving from Intel to Apple for many years. They are hiring. And they know who to hire and who to turn down. Just got called

I went from Intel to Apple, it 2.5x my salary.

Those who stay because they can't leave. They have no skills to give.

I believe OP. What he says is what I have experienced. Intel is definitely not the place to stay if you still have some way to go in your career.

I like when someone says “trust me” it’s usually the opposite.
