Thread regarding US Foods layoffs

Dave has protection

This is bullsh-t. Layoffs and yet everyone has noticed that our CEO has hired protection police- security for himself. It isn’t even a secret that he has them at his home too with his family . All of the cuts we did and yet we spend money on people to protect his family??? He makes enough to pay for his home and family himself.

I am a first timer. I heard about this conversation after I told a colleague how bad security was this year at the club and the concert. This year is like every year and people get wasted but this year every security man was taken to the executives and customer small parties and the majority of us were left with nothing. We had people at the concert that just walked in and weren't even part of the group. I ran into that several times and I reported it to security but they said their boss told them to stay on the steps or near the large customer areas and that we should just asked them to leave. That didn't go well when I did. There was a bit too much groping this year. l saw it a few times near the beach area. I need not forget that people that didnt belong also made it into the exibit area and picked up free t-shirts and food. They were very inappropriate to some of us ladies. I told a security lady in a yellow shirt who took me to an older robust man in black who was standing by the entrance and he told me to go talk to the yellow shirt security and tell him again what happened and to pay more attention. He just said he can only do what he can with what the little they give him. That is NOT MY JOB. He didn't ask my name or where it happened or where they tried to repeatedly flirt with me, He only directed me back to the yellow shirt security guy. I did not see DF there this year but I recognized a couple Presidents. I thought the events team did another great job this year but I concur that the marketing posters could have been a bit more creative. The classes were what they normally are, not great. The food at the concert was poorly coordinated. There were different foods at different tables and no one knew that so we ate food we didn't like thinking they were all the same. ' Travel was great as always. So only one glaring problem. The security was much worse this year than in prior years.

Oh sh-t! I am reading these for the first time and this guy has to go. I won't be calling the ethics line nor telling HR a damn thing or they will just tell this guy and he will open his fu--ing mouth to who told. So I will let what I just saw in my DC continue. I am glad my boys here told me to read this before I reported it when I told them I was going to call in about the stealing and dr-g use.

Let’s not lose sight of these articles.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/925908/revealed-identity-of-top-fbi-official-who-leaked-secret-information-to-media/

I will start posting them all to keep these on our mind. It shows how much disregard they have for us. Over 3 thousand associates just expressed dismay and lack trust in this dirtbag. Our voice is not heard and at US Foods.

I was there. Our security was the worst we have had at food fanatics unless you were at the customer meetings and executive events. Then an army of yellow shirts were there. Everything else was not done like it had in the past with John. It was much much worse this year. But what also needs to be looked at is the poor marketing. Our marketing strategy is stale and the way we tried to bring in customers without a clear message and strategy was a wreck. We could do so much better with a new CMO that can come up with creative marketing to drive sales. It's time. It is something our sales teams in national and local sales talk about all of the time. Our competition is much better with that and we have to fight and claw to try to catch up. Do they not see that we are using 90s marketing ideas???????????????????

I would concur with you all. He told my boss that they still have security at our CEO's house. Why? Is there something or going on or someone trying to hurt US Foods? All that money for what? What about us then? He also told him he now has theft assitt protect work but that they arent kicking in the money he needs to do any of it right. They probably want to see sh-t get done before they invest more and my boss says he aint done sh-t. I didn't go to Food Fanatics this year but I spoke to some of my customers. They said they scored everything well on their event review sent to them but it was because they want to be invited back for others. They thought the marketing posters and most classes were poor but the food was good, except the last party. One restauranteur that I am going after was there and he walked away thinking it was fun but he was vomitted on and there was no security to call anywhere close at the final party. He told me if this is how poorly we did the security at a "high profile event", then we wouldn't trust that our warehouses are safe and wont have "contamination or theft" problems which would then cost him his produce and was not interested in doing business.

Those articles are fu--ing damning!. How was this sh-t head hired?? No wonder everyone steals in our DC. They sent one of his senior director henchmen in to do an investigation and it was comical. He left after discovering one of our drivers was involved and never thought to see who else was doing it inside or if there were other corrupt drivers. They paused for a week after he left and started up the taking of fu--ing food a week later. Most of it doesn’t get stolen in transit to customers a--holes. I mean they don’t have a fu--ing clue what they are doing. The opportunity and ease to steal is too tempting and easy not to do and most do a little bit every day. Instead of plugging that sh-t, they just chase down what they notice after it is done. They left leaving everything the way it was.

That other post on Montgomery Alabama is scary. And it could happen at our DC too. The same problems are going down here too. And door scanners and detectors ain’t going to do it d-mb fu--s! They use other areas to get sh-t in and out. It scares the sh-t out of me and I ain’t calling security to say sh-t about it. After reading those articles, I feel safer with some of our trouble makers than I do with this BP dirty fu-k. He will “dork” it up anyways.

I think I met you two and was there when it all went down. If y’all are the ladies with the breakfast restaurant in New Mexico, I apologize for our security, and lack thereof but hope y’all give us another chance. All because you two, nor us employees, don’t trust our security, you should trust us in sales and our operations. We deliver and put you first.

To our leaders, we are tired of doing clean up for your bad decisions lately. Fix this sh-t and make the necessary changes.

My friend and I own a breakfast restaurant and were there. The comments here are right. We learned about this site from a customer there. My friend and I were physically harrassed by a drunk restaurant owner and we all looked around for security and no one was around. Like other posters said on this thread, we learned they were all at the private and executive areas. We saw one person throw up on another and had to be carried to this room after guests couldnt find security anywhere at the concert. We later were told they were all in the corners with their execs and some other restricted areas. We won't be ordering anything from a company that puts its customers and possible customers in a place with thousands of guests and then leaves them on their own. A US Foods lady was nice enough to tell us the problem and about this site. She said she didn;t feel comfortable there as a woman. We read the articles on here and shame on all of you. As a woman, I would be upset too. What a pig and his not knowing company security showed and put us in a bad spot. I won't be back. i won't do business with this company after this and my brother is a big customer and when I told him he was appalled and is going to try a different company by giving them 10 percent of the orders and increasing the amount of restaurants from there.

You are fu--ing kidding me???????? He flies private jets? Layoffs and company cost cutting and he is flying private jets? He is a d-mb a-s security guy to tell you that, unless you work in security with him. But even then, that doesn’t sh-t should not be told because it just pi---s us off even more.

DF wasn't there. I asked an older heavy set security manager there. in an all black suit and shirt, and he told me during that it was because he hurt himself on the weekend. He said he figured he figured he would tough it out and be there but he didn't. He said he flies private and could have come in for a few hours and gone on back home but didn't. He seemed to roll his eyes while saying it.

I wasn't there but what did y'all expect? If you put sh-t in, sh-t comes out. You all saw his experience, or lack thereof. Ask yourselves, what the fu-k has he even done so far? Not a damn thing. Our leader's expectations must be low. Watch y'all, when something bad happens, we gonna get sued because we knew he wasn't sh-t and kept him around.

I thought it was just me but security su-ked this year. I went drinking with a customer at a different casino and we when we returned we went to the show halls before the shows started again the second day. We went there at well after midnight I had done it to show the customer where we would meet the next day. I expected to see security or John there as was usually the case but there was no one in sight. We walked around the front and back stage area and even got into the displays and booths through one open door in the other area and were never seen. The customer said that there was expensive sh-t there and that he was surprised we left it wide open. John always use to check and get up at all times of the night to make sure all was good but he wasn’t there and it showed. We also noticed that there was some unruly sh-t going on with men being too forward and sometimes harassing women because there wasn’t anyone supervising the parties like prior years. There was other sh-t we saw but won’t say it on here. The focus was clearly on executives because we saw people getting into the show areas that we had to ask what they were doing there and kick out. They looked like sh-t and didn’t care about anything but were our higher ups were .lets face it. The new guy is lost.

Just found out about this site. Y’all are right. Security was a cluster fu-k this year but I didn’t know why it was so different than our previous shows. Now I know.

Y’all, it’s a little scary that this new guy is the boss of security. Like the other ladies that made comments on this site, I won’t be calling in anything I see that is wrong. Our privacy and confidence is important and this guy, bless his heart, is not someone I would ever confy in. He seems like a sicko and the articles on him that were posted are very scary..

I didn’t go this year but guys on my team that did go said the same thing y’all are saying on here. They said they saw a employee drink way too fu--ing much and take some things from a hotel stores without paying but they didn’t want to report it to the secure team because the crooked cop may be there and they didn’t trust him. They said he might have blamed every body. Including them too for not stopping them. They said the food was sh-t st the outdoor party and that the off site party was too wild and the amount people drank wasn’t controlled. They said it was bigger and prettier than ever but less professional and sh-t food. I thought we would cut back on the cost if we laid off people but they said we spent more. Why?

YEAH, we said the same thing! All of the guards were put at places to not let attendees into the executive areas or big customer parties and everything else was left without anyone. We must have been in a similar place because we saw a shoving and cursing match and wanted to go get some help and people kept pointing me off the beach and to a corner where there were steps and 3 guards there in yellow. I told them about it and they said they couldn't leave that area because they had to be there to "control access" to the executive area. One tried to get on a radio thingamajg but couldn't reach anyone because "it is probably too loud". So I went back and watched our customers separate these two while one other person kept groping the lady with one of them by holding her back by her bo--s and grabbing her a-s and laughing. I don't know who they were and don't care to know but why werent guards in the crowd. That is where the drunks are and the biggest possibility of problems or someone getting hurt. The security was a cluster fu-k this year! Sh-t, I had to kick out people eating in our hall three times who were just hotel people and had nothing to do with our Food Fanatics because they were let in without a hanging badge or bracelet. I told the guard three times and he just sat in his chair and did nothing. JP would not permit chairs and guards were in the center of the openings checking everyone. One actually walked out with a T-shirt we made him and was carrying his beer can while walking. You can't make this sh-t up. JP, you are not allowed to take time off next time during FF. It was a cluster fu-k without you. And don't let me get to what the guards looked like. You would have turned down half of them.

I couldn't agree more. JP was far better at Food Fanatics.

It's not a surprise. Do you want to lessen the possibility of layoffs and increase sales? Give our sales teams a chance and hire new marketing leaders. Our sh-t is very old and stale. The target audience of Fan Fanatics, the marketing of that event and the marketing material and add styles and locations of adds leaves a lot to be desired. We need new leaders with creative and new ideas to set us apart. Give us a chance versus our competition. Hire a creative and smart person and set us on a bold and new course.

The event su-ked di-k. It was bigger than normal but not impressive at all. The band su-ked! They also allowed too many people to get wasted and security was focused on the places where executives where and not the crowd and regulars. People were wasted and throwing up in the pool and sand at the last party and I saw women get harrassed and some ending up in the wrong rooms. There were two pushing and shoving matches over women too. They just allowed too much alcohol consumption and without supervision, it fu--s everything up. Some people fell on the sidewalks by the sand and it was up to us to care for them. We couldn't find a security person anywhere. JP used to have his people everywhere so we all felt like people gave a fu-k about us and they would be around for all of the sh-t that could happen. If he didn't make it, that would explain the problems I saw. The food stations weren't marked so people didn't know what food was where and the party at the night club was fun but lots of groping going on and no security nearby. My customer left by taxi with his wife because he was tired of "drunks molesting her". Our marketing team fu---d this one up except the main presentations in the large ballrooom. Those were o.k. They could have made this at a fraction of the costs and saved some jobs.

@pzt I loved and echoe your post. I was a US Foods employee too and was laid off some years back. I wasn’t mad about it because it was a business decision. I had a rough go at it at first but eventually landed a job with a competitor in the same job that you have and decided to keep US Foods cause of my friends there and descent past. But when I read this and see you bring in employees now that thousands of employees have commented on this site that they are uclncomforsble with cause his past and you don’t show any consideration for that and move him to a new role or put, we stepped in. It seems you released a woman or she had to quit because of that and like they said on this site,’you left the cancer in the body. I am
Sure you are noticing a reduction in your revenue goals. We cut out spend on US Foods by 20 percent cause we care for our drivers and they are distressed over this guy. I have talked to others in their purchasing /procurement departments and they had been doing the same. One did it because his tainted past with the government where she works. We hope it sparks a movement by management to do the right thing and give a hoot about your employees. We seem to like and appreciate their feelings more than all of you.’shame on you! Get back to the US Foods I used to know.

Ha! I knew it. I thought the women and Vegas lifestyle would temp him but he is stupid for pushing his employee out so he can go hang in the night. It tells us what poor choices our Secured VP makes. JP, we hope you aren't the one that got the boot. You know the deal at our annual event and make it easier for people to approach you for help. Your a-s better be there again. Let me save you all the trouble. He will be in Las Vegas and the one you are expecting won’t. This event has always had the same person attend for years and this time I won’t be there. He purposely pushed his way in and told the regular not be there. I don’t know the reason but he has been the one on all of the preparation calls and the regular was asked to stay home. Assume what you will from that.

Post ID: @qy8+1jmv5dymh

The response before mine is because a previous poster thought that the person we are all worried about would attend some company event in Las Vegas because of the "lure of the city" and what the night life activities and gentlemen's clubs they are famous for. Some one responded that it wouldn't be smart since someone that normally does the security guy that normally goes does a good job and would report any wrong doing he would be doing. They also hinted that the security guy is on his feet a lot and works long hours into the morning. The prediction was that the one we worry about -Security SVP would ask to go there to work and meet company people but that the real reason for him to want to be there would be to spread his wild oats.

Not sure why their original post was removed but this one is board compliant. I go too and the security guy is by the book and would indeed report him. He will have to put his security guy in a locked room to watch the equipment and not be around to see what he does but then we would suffer because the regular security guy is good about keeping all of us on the right road.

I’ll be there again. I will let y’all know but he ain’t that stupid. It will be JP again who does a nice job and works all times of night to keep us out of trouble and takes us to our rooms when we drink too much. We will see him at 4 am sometimes walking around making sure we ain’t getting in no trouble. But I will look for the white suit and thin black bow tie and let you know. I can’t see him constantly walking around and working 16 hour days so I think the prediction will be wrong. He won’t sign up for blue collar work. Unless like the last poster says, the lure of the night life pulls him in. JP would do the right thing and report him for anything he does wrong so it would be a d-mb a-s choice to be there.

I know who you are too and we do miss you. I heard you were moving up in the world and were staying loyal to USF but the company you knew and loved is changing. There's no fu--ing way this would have happened a few years back. Oddly, I like and trust Mr. Flitman but he is laying too much trust in his HR and legal department's and this time, it has bit him in his a-s. He still can garner our respect and trust by stepping in and giving a sh-t about us and making the right decision to bring trust and confidence to his employees by showing he will even defy his team around him if it means doing the right thing. Get rid of this poor choice and offer him a nice package to go away. We would rather you pay him than have to stay quiet when we see illegal or questionable sh-t going on in the company. We ask our leader to demonstrate he is what some of us know to be. Bring confidence and trust back to our security-safety team. It is not safe working in a company where we must stay silent and maybe that means sending a message on the OSHA site and seeing what they think about our dilemma and if it poses a safety risk to us when thousands of your employees lack trust and won't report sh-t.

This is not the US Foods I knew. I was a former associate of US Foods. I left a while ago because of rumors of possible layoffs. I landed with a customer and then joined as the leader of a procurement team at one of your large national contracts and current US Foods customer. Because of my good times at US Foods, I was part of a bid and I pushed to keep US Foods though you weren’t the lowest cost provider. But as I read these posts, I am saddened and do not recognize my old US Foods. You have over 2000 associates begging and pleading for help and from what I am told in discussions with several managers of ours and their interactions with your drivers at our different restaurants throughout the country, nothing is being done. Over 2000 employees, and growing, acknowledged a post below pleading for your help and it is ignored? They have a trust problem and frankly after non-action and researching more on this character that you hired so do I. I will wait and speak to some of our restaurant general managers and see if this is addressed and if not, it will force me to make an unfortunate and preventable decision in the near future. The comfort and protection of our employees is paramount and the US Foods I used to know used to know that and made sure it was for their employees as well.

I just heard about this tonight from a security friend of mine on his team. I thought he may be exaggerating but after reading all of this and the articles, it is actually much worse than what he told me. No wonder he is having such a bad time believing he can regain the trust of the US Foods masses with his boss at the helm. How could you do this to him and bring in such a questionable man? Worse yet. How could you do this to us? Like I told him after reading all of this, I won't be calling him with anything I run into either. He would have to tell his boss and I for one don't trust him. And it seems many share my view which makes our company a less safe place to work.

I won't say more than that because this a--hole will know who told us what he told him and I don't want to get my boss in trouble. But yeah, he wanted no part of it and left it to compliance to look into it after he told his boss about what his employee told him JR. had said. Loose lips and loose cannons. Just what we need at US Foods. This is a dumpster-fire!

What mo--n thought it was ok to hire a VP or any associate, with this type of baggage and history. Who ever know and hired them should be let go for being that stupid to put our company at risk with this move. If he or she knew about it, they should be fired for being socially and corporate ignorant. But more than anything, this ba----d needs to be let go based on his past and the causation that it brings to our customers and our associate trust. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen if this bonehead is still here.

I dont buy that. When little Flitman was in our DC, he was quiet, professional, humble, and very respectful. If anyone accused him of anything more, I wouldn't believe it. You could tell he was a bad a-s but never a bad dude. We wish he came back. He had some good a-s ideas.

He said there was some kinda threat against another employee at a restaurant and that he told compliance to look into it after one of his other team guys told him what the son did. He said the best part was all he had to do was fire him with his boss there since he wanted no trouble from the CEO. I don’t know how much of that is true but I like that he talks so fu--ing much. We need to cleanse ourselves from this dirty cop and his band of helpers / hun, Smurf, D of biz, compliance / . I agree that the last 4 could only get a serious write up saying if they do it again they will be fired and at least I and my friends at Fontana would be good with that. But the dirty cop is a stain on our company. It’s even worse, he has lost our faith in the system. We can’t trust him and his direct reports to keep our discussions confidential if we call to report a crime or security issue. We can’t trust he will look into issues in a fair way and he won’t be slanted. We can’t trust them to be unbiased. We can’t trust him to look at the women working here as more than pieces of meat. And he is already hurting sales and customers are asking our drivers about this . My friend and driver here won’t tell his manager cause he doesn’t want to be accused of telling his customers about this so the two drivers that I know that are being asked questions by customers are staying mum on it. We respectfully and with good faith ask our leaders to put the needs of the many ahead of the needs of the one. The customers are important but we only hope that the executives especially the one over HUMAN resources are concerned about us employees enough to know the damage his past has brought to every one of us, most notably the women here. We plead to all of you at the top, especially DF, who carry the hopes and dreams of all of us employees and please make the difficult choice of shedding him from our beloved company and restore our faith in all of you to shield us and to do the right thing for our customers. Leadership isn’t easy but doing the correct things should be. Most people here don’t believe you will but I still have faith in all of you top 10 or 12. You all reached the top by working hard with all of us and rising to your top jobs, so you all know from when you were young that faith in the top is huge. It will show you haven’t forgot us that you worked with to help you get to the top and keep you there. I hope that us employees are still a part of your heart. So the next move is on all of you and I hope you will show you do care about all of us. Please.
