Long before I even knew what DEI was, as I recall, there was a very strong group of minority employees in the US anyway. I don't remember the name of it, but I remember it made a lot of managers afraid to fire people without really significant cause. Again, long time ago, but I happened to work for a manager that was contacted as soon as he came on to join it. Now Xerox has no loyalty or fear of laying off anyone anyway. But it's possible for a company to still maintain some diversity without having a DEI office or compliance training around it. Inclusiveness is not just about protected classes like race, gender and religion. It's about working across our differences to make everyone feel included, to bring different perspective and experience, and ultimately create stronger teams that are able to find ways to work together in spite of our differences. It would be a shame to lose it completely. Xerox was one of my first jobs out of school and I always admired the diversity. Other jobs I've had since have not been that way even with DEI programs. If nothing else, they shipped so many of our jobs to India and Guatemala, so they still have some diversity. Just not in the US.

Xerox Canada loves DEI social washing. It appears progressive and they can pay DEI hires less. Works great until it backfires. It’s win/win/lose/lose, aka the Xerox cha-cha.

It absolutely is. There is no original thinking here so they just follow the trends. SB has no accountability and loves to repost others thoughts on LI so he is all in with DEI.
