The Topeka, KS Frito Lay plant is having reduced hours in both manufacturing and warehouse. This includes some employees going on unemployment as they are essentially being laid off. Workers are being told this will last 6 weeks but maybe longer. Some employees have been out of work for the first two weeks as production drastically slows and daily shipments are down between 15-20% at this plant. There are talks of having a volunteer layoff within the next few weeks.

Had a 15 minute call with my team's lead this morning --scheduled at 6am for 10am. They read from a script stating that due to business changes the structure of my organization was changing, too. They offered me a role (so I'm saved) at a lower level. According to what I understood I keep my salary and level but it's technically a lower role. And if i chose not to accept the role, they would consider it a voluntary separation and I wouldn't be eligible for severance. They said that there were going to be changes throughout the teams this week and to continue business as usual but being mindful that some colleagues will not be here next week. Not fishing. Not fishing. Liberty, NY plant closing completely by April. Held a meeting today and told everyone on all shifts. Still can't find anything on it other than this site and a random FB post speculating about it, been searching for info since Friday.
Pepsi is currently 4 regions
PBNA. Spending freeze. Hiring freeze. Promotion freeze. No relocation packages for the rest of the year. Basically means almost no pay raise this year, which is ultimately a pay cut in real pay terms, and no chance of promotion. I took a relocation a few years ago and was looking forward to a move closer to home area this year. I’m stuck now.
Got a buddy in Transportation who said big changes there today. More to come under something called 1Pepsi or 1PepsiCo? Anyone else heard anything about that?
This is definitely not a fishing expedition. It’s happening. R&D is not exempt. 4 regions makes sense given what happened today. It actually started last week unbeknownst to any of the lower level GPIDS.
When did they send out a stay at home order? Haven’t seen one.

100% not fishing. I know of 2 RDs let go and my closest geo co-worker was let go. More to come tomorrow, stay at home order in place for all levels above L6. Downsizing to 4 regions
