Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

If this earnings report doesn't mark the conclusion of this CEO's tenure, then the future of this company looks bleak.

I've been with Medtronic for over 20 years (somehow). Ever since GM became CEO, the goal was to enrich himself and his buddies while squeezing the employees as much as possible to maximize profit. The fact that he is still here, means that there is still some juice left to squeeze.

At our mandatory “let’s discuss the employee feedback meeting” our new sr director said he didn’t need to address the upper management rating (18%) because it’s tied solely to stock price…I forgot what do these clowns get paid for again PowerPoint presentations or TPS reports?! How is it the bottom rung is continually squeezed but our levels of management grow? It’s more than just Geoff, his poor leadership is working its way down to the lowest levels.

I love the company but would no longer recommend it because I see no light at the end of the tunnel. Duck, cover, and hope for severance is the best advice I can give. GLTA

Would you trust Geoff to drive your kids school bus after the last 5 years?

TriStaple is the #1 revenue generator. Leave it to Geoff to covertly engineer an extraordinary miss (wink wink) to impact our MIP payout.

This will pass too. Geoff and his cronies will continue to drive this once great company into the ground while the board is watching.

For the DEI opposition, Boston Scientific supports DEI and they had one of the best years of the company last year. They are paying 150% bonus.
READ. THAT. AGAIN!

The whole problem is GM and his accomplices!

“ Covidien and its products are like albatross’s around our neck and Geoff was the one who merged it . Medtronic on its own is far better”

Stop embarrassing yourself….

Ever hear of TriStaple? I’ll give you a hint… it saved your bonus more than once in the past.
Do a little homework…

Let’s not blame covidien. Surgical has grown over the years & everyone is banking on the robot. We are all in this together.

Seriously. Horrible earnings . Covidien can’t carry its own back.

Covidien and its products are like albatross’s around our neck and Geoff was the one who merged it . Medtronic on its own is far better

If this isn’t an epitome of his failures , I don’t know what is.

When will some people get over “DEI” excuses and actually see what the real issue is here. GM and his buddies are doing everything they can do get short term profits. Their id--tic plans are backfiring.

The DOW has basically doubled in the last five years and Martha’s MDT is down close to 40% over the same period. He accelerated DEI when he took over and many with deep industry knowledge and relationships were passed over or shown the door in favor of a company-wide quota system. The stock was at 136 five years and is 86 today. What is the board waiting for?

Robbie (banker) during the Q&A asked a really good question around our ability to fund all these “growth” areas effectively. The street sees it too.

The problem is the MDT QMS system

He is too self-confident [arrogant] to recognize HE IS THE PROBLEM. The board must act!

Investors are never fooled by profit growth without top line growth. Anyone can fake up some profit numbers.

Congratulations on revenue miss, that's what happens when you focus only on profit.

Remember when Geoff convinced Omar to buy Covidien. Then Omar thought it would be a good idea to make him CEO. Nice work Omar… you and your boy wonder ki-led Medtronic.

What else can it possibly take for the big firms to force him out? The company is down 20% since he took over and that’s before the massive bleeding today. Only solution he has come up with is to cut employees over and over again and then ask more from those left…great leadership.
