Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

PFNA email this morning (text)

Sounds like some of yall in the PFNA sector didn’t get this so sharing the text below….. share what you’re hearing and what you think all this means??!

Dear Team:
PepsiCo Foods has always been about adapting and growing. And while we’ve made progress, we must do more to position ourselves for long-term success.

Today, we are taking the next step in this journey. The business environment continues to be challenging, and we must adjust to become more efficient and better positioned for the future. Unfortunately, this includes role eliminations. These decisions were made with great care, focusing on ensuring we are structured to compete, grow, and invest in a consumer-winning strategy.

To support our colleagues during this time, PepsiCo Foods U.S. HQ-based associates in Plano and Chicago, excluding R&D teams in Plano, are encouraged to work remotely Tuesday through Thursday to provide privacy for these conversations. We’ll then come together for functional meetings on Friday, Feb. 21, and as a full PepsiCo Foods U.S. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, to discuss our path forward and answer your questions.

Our strength has always been in our people, and I deeply appreciate the resilience, commitment, and dedication each of you brings. If you have questions, please contact your HR business partner or leadership team.

Heard from a friend in the PR department that there was an issue with the outlook DLs. Lots of people didn’t get todays email but wasn’t intentional. Classic PepsiCo. I blame Athina LOL

Ive been around for several layoffs but never seen “role eliminations” called out. Usually is worded as restructure, realignment, reorganization or something along those terms. I feel like this one will be big at HQ. I can see cutting down the headcount so everyone can fit in the office 5x/week again.

I can appreciate this person calling it like it is.. "Unfortunately, this includes role eliminations." Rip that band-aid off! Everyone else would have danced like the monkey they are.

Maybe Ramon should give back the 20% raise he took last year. At the very least some of the $35,000,000 salary that is 140% index of his peer pay in similar industries.
