Thread regarding Ford layoffs

401k vesting

My 401k is vesting in few months and I am constantly stuck between just sticking it out and praying/ hoping I get it vs just leaving now.

If I get fired / laid off, I won't get it anyway AND would have wasted time.

If I leave now, I won't get it.

Any advice or tips would be great

Chill out. Not worth worrying about either way.

A few months doesn't sound like a long time in context of the life of a career. I guess it also depends on the amount of money you will lose and whether you have a job prospect.

I would document the full list of benefits and challenges for both staying and leaving. Once you look at it, you'll probably know the right decision for you.

I say leave...... Everyone that is vested in the 401K will get a chuck of your matched $$$$$.
That money never go back to Ford and it gets spread out to everyone that is vested in the SSIP

Wait. Keep your head down, don't make waves, to and the minute you're vested find another job.
