Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Keep looking

Whether there will be more layoffs or not, never stop looking for that next job. If you're still at 3M a few years from now when things go completely to he-l, you'll only have yourself to blame. Use this time to get out of this hellhole and your life is bound to improve significantly.

55er,

I got packaged out last year at 58 and it's been mostly heavenly since, except for the jimmy carter inflation and 401k massacre. But still glad I left when I did, under my terms (was ready to go), and got paid nicely to be fired. No complaints.

Reconnect with some friends or hobbies when you go, knowing you did the best for what has really been a great company that starting getting off track in its 2nd century when Mcnerney brought in his GE or die approach. The path of GE since Jack Welch left is living proof how disastrous such a path 3M went on the "modernize" itself when it showed have stuck to the winning playbook of innovation (and not Mike's GE playbook or cut and cut some more until earning get better).

As my friendly former Brit colleagues told this Midwestern guy many times - cheers!

Severance pay is not a given. Federal and state law do not require employers to offer severance packages. Whether you receive severance pay depends, in part, on your employment contract. In the case of severance, past is not prologue.

A Minneapolis severance pay dispute lawyer can help you decide whether the separation agreement your employer wants you to sign is fair.

THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.
