Thread regarding Neiman Marcus Group layoffs

Why Cheryl as CDO?

What has she accomplished? She was always envious about NMO and Connect. She couldn't comprehend how CMOS works or ecommerce works. She never understood performance marketing.
She had no enterprise experience prior to joining BG.

How is the world did the new Saks mgmt get this wrong??
Didn't they not see the status of BGO? Her bad decisions? Her people skills? No one likes working for her.

If you want to transform, get rid of the evil first.

Seems they came to their senses (what everyone else already knew) and replaced her 6-months into the role. Seems like they were searching for her replacement behind the scenes given the speed of bringing in her replacement.

Agreed, biggest winners here are the consultants paid a premium to continue to do her job for her (and more 😉)

Most of her talking points and presentations were provided by Sapient & other consultants. She literally had no clue about ecomm/performance marketing/Product mgmt and more. Biggest mistake was putting a 20 something year old as ecom consultant and then hiring her as a senior leader when she has absolutely ZERO enterprise experience.

BG collapsed, now I will watch Saks collapse because they will keep her and empower her to make decisions.
