Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Am I misremembering life before Covid?

My memory of work before the pandemic was people trying to work together to benefit the company and clients. Now everyone down to phone reps are deep in politics bs.

I’m not living in rainbows and butterflies land, but it seemed like people didn’t mind coming in the office.

Management is so weak and play favorites so much in my department. The leader of my organization hired managers who have no experience, to hide his incompetence in the role. It’s to the point where HR/ER is involved in every problem, no matter how small.

The clowns are running the circus.

It’s way worse now that most people aren’t qualified for any position at fidelity let alone making decisions that impact clients and associates.

Synchronized stress diarrhea and vomiting can make a real office mess.

I mean yeah, it’s batshit crazy in there. But you still need to go in there and do your best to perform your job, unless you are independently wealthy. It’s just a job, it’s not your life. It’s literally just work you do to earn money. Don’t let it affect you like this. Detach as best you can from the crazy BS.

Some people on here have mentioned being afraid to come to work because they’re being harassed. You need to consult with an employment lawyer and get professional advice about how to proceed. Don’t try to handle this on your own, and don’t avoid it by staying home and getting put on a pip.

I have personally seen harassment cases get resolved. You’re not helpless. But it won’t go away by itself, and you can’t just blindly try to get HR to help you. It’s inexpensive and easy to consult with an attorney who can give you advice.

The stress has to be engineered at this point. There are a few people in my department, who always complain about stress diarrhea and vomiting at work.

I can feel my brain cells slowly dying each second I’m in the office.
