Since a senior executive for Ireland is "leaving" on the 28th, there's a possibility that they're going to shut it down the site just like they did with Arizona IT innovation center

It will not happen any time soon.
They can rent data center storage in Europe without needing to keep an office there.
GM sold Opal Vauxhaul 2015-16 but started selling EV's in Switzerland, France, Sweden, etc and growing starting in 2023. In 2023, to conduct business in EU, GM needed to have a data center there to retain customer data within the continent. Doubt if that has changed with the new administration and EU relationships (or lack of). And unless GM stopped selling the Lyriq and Equinox EV.... Ireland was where customer data was retained. So maybe some orgs in Ireland are being cut, but doesn't seem right the entire operation would be shuttered.
Heard Ireland will be gone as well.
Had something to do with moving those operations to California. It made no sense whatsoever.
Then again, it’s GM.
Literally fictional nonsense
For 24 hour coverage wouldn't it make sense to rely on Bangalore instead of Ireland?
They're way cheaper too.
Senior Leader from S&S visited Atlanta three weeks ago. During his visit, he confirmed that his focus would be on increasing the staff in Ireland. The reasoning behind this decision is that having teams in both the US and Ireland will ensure 24-hour coverage. As a result, the operations in Ireland will remain active.
After we sold our European business, why do we even still have an office in Ireland?
Any word about Georgia?
Rumors keep going around.
