Make sone changes. Meet them where they put you. If you are average then damn it he average. Stop multitasking, stop working more than 8 hours a day stop reacting to every call like it’s an emergency Do the work you are being paid to do nothing more and nothing less. Don’t expect anything from this poor leadership and you will not be disappointed. Don’t come off mute when asked your opinion. Don’t volunteer to help the leadership team look good. Don’t do the work of two people for free just because you are good at your job. You will just get more work without recognition. None of your extra hard work (above normal responsibilities ) will be recognized. So you need to make the change and meet them where they value you. Leadership can look you in the eye and lie … you must have been able to pick up this talent …. So use it

Yes the forced ratings have been around a long time. But now the 1-5 scale has changed to 1-4 forcing a binary decision between "good employee" and "bad employee." And the # of 3's and 4's will be reduced over time as a super sh---y way of lowering bonus payouts. This is a terrible way to "lead." I have a very high performing team with no weak spots and it's taken years to get to this point. I have been told it's likely next year that some of my team must get 2's. It just ain't right.

We've had forced rating distribution for a dozen years. It's scary that some people only noticed now? Or are these posters 22 year old former interns who cry when they're not given a participation trophy?

I’m guessing they’re talking about the systemic downrating of employees to avoid paying out as much in bonuses.

Across the board, managers/MDs are being told they only have x number of ratings above 3 to give out and that number is very small - smaller than usual.

So if you busted your a-s, you’re likely not going to see any increase in rating from prior years, and may actually see a lower rating.

We are simply numbers in a spreadsheet to senior management.

They’re not though. They don’t care about you.
