Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Layoff at walmart

One of my colleague at walmart corporate section was laid off this week. We had information that walmart is going to do changes and hence removing few roles across USA. Any information on this?

That makes very little sense.

does not matter much. Walmart has all the usa customer base. saving a few bucks to higher from india is not going to give high profit. Doesn't matter how much india throws at it. The company has reached the max revenue it will ever make. We are going down from here. When the company gets to the top of its total revenue....only way to go is down...down...down...

The Indian influence has been there more than 3-4 years, that’s just a fact. The old ISD over in the David Glass building was inundated with that Indian influence since at least 2010. Even before Harvest basically took all the morale out of that place. We sent VPs, Directors and managers out to Chenai and shortly after that, H1B’s and the influx of Indian consultants started to flood in. Associates were forced to train their Indian replacements. US associates were laid off and the rest is history.

No one can dispute this.

Indian-led Walmart leadership has become so deeply rooted over the last 3-4 years that it’s now tough to remove them. However, since their arrival, the company has experienced significant chaos and disruptions. Loyalty within Walmart has eroded, with frequent mass layoffs becoming a regular occurrence.

But, that strategy is flawed. We’re still going to see US workers dwindling because the Indian leadership is so well versed on how to manipulate the H1B process, the literally thousands of ‘off shore’ contractors and the contractor management which is so eager to bring in new business and expand current engagements.

Layoffs every year at Walmart is simply a given now. Whereas the company once had a reputation for loyalty and opportunity, their reputation now is…… well, in the toilet. It’s not Sam’s Walmart anymore. It’s not even My Walmart anymore.

That’s sad, but you had to see that eventually coming. It’s left overs from the failed merger.
