Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Look at your Environment and Leaders

How much has your salary increased over the last few years? Still begging for 1.5% raises?

Ramon Laguarta, the CEO and Chairman of the Board at PepsiCo compensation
2022 - $28,388,228
2023 - $33,906,212 (This included a salary of $1,688,462, a bonus of $13,417,400, and $10,230,075 in stock).

I wonder what 2024 will be? Do you really think he cares about anybody?

The entire Board needs to look into PepsiCo Leadership for failure to do their jobs. The company has suffered irreparable damage. Covid consumer prices years later due to greed - alienating long term consumers. It’s embarrassing watching local stores flip to Coke bc of Pepsi issues!
All Ramon and team are doing to compensate for its losses is laying off the people working 24/7 to make it a success.

The only strategy Ramon executed in the last couple of years is to increase prices of our products so that we can achieve the set target profits. This is not a sustainable strategy. There will be a breaking point when consumers will stop buying our products because they have become unaffordable.

Then there is an R&D VP who keeps on saying AOPs are not a priority, that our priority is his pet project -- PLM. We will not reap the benefits of PLM until many years from now, but in the meantime we need to pay the bills. Teams that heavily support AOPs are ignored even though they are helping the company keep itself afloat. Whereas those in PLM are using so much R&D budget without any guarantees that what they are doing will deliver anything substantial for the company.

What kool-aid are you drinking?? This guy is atrocious and beholden to the share holder exclusively. He has not created a single thing, yet reaps rewards on our fruits of labor. In case you are out of touch with reality, PepsiCo is alienating their customer base buy repeated price hikes and shrinkflation. Three quarters in a row that sales hasn’t made expectations should be your sign. This is why the annual culling of middle management has intensified this year and the front line workers are getting unrealistic plans that directly impact their income, unlike the salaried counterparts that salivate for bonuses. This company needs to lower prices immediately and right the ship before the consumer turns their back for good.
