Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Everyday Wins suspension

Has been a month since this initiative has been put on hold. Wondering if employees have stopped appreciating their colleagues for a job well done nowadays? Or people just don't care anymore?

"Everyone does the points exchange and buys a tv. There was no real reward with that program. Now all the factory people are grumpy they can’t get another tv with all their bro points."

Just remember which employees actually make the product that keeps 3M cr-p on the shelves. Lower paid employees than most chair warming carpet walkers in the offices or down in St. Paul.... No wonder why plant hourly employees continue to pursue the idea of unionizing just to stick the shaft to those who have the opinion like that.

PDC in Wisconsin is getting their vote cards right now. More plants will follow. The days of cr-p raises and no recognition are coming to an end.

I don't think this recognition program will ever make a return

BB was furious that Corp Comms ran a competition in December (prize: EW points) for giving out EW points. It totally went against the spirit of something that people really appreciated and instead turned it into people just sending them for the heck of it, and spending a good chunk of change in the process, and he was very unhappy. Can understand why, to be fair.

The joke is that people can also nominate for gold awards which carry much more weightage points. Now wonder this program had to be overhauled

What did you do before everyday wins?

That program was a joke. Line operators all giving each other 50 points for “thanks for being you bro”.

Everyone does the points exchange and buys a tv. There was no real reward with that program. Now all the factory people are grumpy they can’t get another tv with all their bro points.

Would definitely prefer to receive a thoughtful email from a colleague that I’ve helped, with a copy to my supervisor, than some lame acknowledgement through a clunky 3rd party portal. Why would anyone even bother to use such a portal unless there was some redeemable points? The beautiful e-cards? Gimme a break.

Why should I spend more time than writing an email or writing on Teams if there are no points?

They will begin charging for the parking ramp when the new bus one for commuters becomes operational. We might get a discounted rate - but we will pay

I actually have been sending more recognition than I did previously. I don't have to worry about running out of points or not giving enough points. I recognize people for their help and let them know I appreciate them👌🏼

I won't even bother to write appreciation if there's no points or gift attached . What is the use of writing it in the stup1d system by HR??

They said it would be “temporary” but it seems like a slap in the face to send a card without any points attached. I’ve cut down on card sending until the points come back, if they actually do.

Like the post from someone who worked at BBs former company, this is "par for the course" from this CEO.

The unwashed masses under Director level will continue to lose benefits (WFH, LTI, etc) and have psyops treatment from sinister bosses. Tireman and Kearney will continue to "discover" most cost savings, further reducing morale. The only way to fight back is to quiet quit and make them fire you and package you out.

For those who are 1984 book fans, you are Winston Smith and Julia. Tireman is Obrien and BB is another form of BB (Big Brother) who runs the company from his sprawling estate on the Florida Gulf Coast, all while he stamps his boot in you face for eternity.

Thank goodness I'm retired. McKnight must sick to his stomach seeing what mcnerney, Inge, Mikey, and now BB has done to this once wonderful company.

When will BB start to charge for closer parking during the frigid winter days at 3M Center. That's next. Don't laugh.
