The BU I work in at Cisco is being slowly replaced by Infosys contractors in India. It is a slow, but certain, death. The worst part is leadership will not tell us how long we have left.

It’s crazy. All the new FTE in my org are converted from Wipro or Infosys. It’s so funny. The leadership was like “oh look we got new hc, org is expanding and we are hiring more!” It’s literally the same amount of people
Replacing US workers with contract firms like Infosys, WiPro, etc is the way Cisco gets around H1B controversy & cost.
If H-1B was supposed to be for companies to get talent unavailable here, why is the money going to a middleman instead of the candidate?
Replacing US workers with contract firms like Infosys, WiPro, etc is the way Cisco gets around H1B controversy & cost. The contract firms hire the H1Bs keeping Cisco's hands clean. Been happening for over a decade.
Its not leaderships job to tell you how much time you have left. That's your job. Unless you've been with Cisco 15+ years, its not worth staying.
“Cisco is hiring like crazy in the US right now”
You gotta preface this with an area, because as a SWE we haven’t made a full US full time hire in over a year. It’s actually crazy.
All untrue rumors. Cisco is hiring like crazy in US right now. Splunk was the best move they've made in years. They will trim the fat from it so we have a successful merger and then it will take off like a rocket.
Yes a few folks will be laid off but that's best for all of us. Better productivity, more profits, more mulla to stockholders. I'm buying all the stock I can get my hands on before the price shoots up. Expect it to reach $70 by May. That's my rock solid prediction.
Vivek and Musk will take care of that, all will be fine. The best and brightest. /s
Soon HQ will move to India.
