I went from having too much on my plate to having trouble finding things to do in the span of 12 months. I'm not sure if I should be grateful and enjoy it while I can or if I should worry that this was in preparation to get rid of me. I can't stop thinking about this. Has anybody had anything similar happen to them?

They are going to get rid of you. My role changed so that my manager assigned me new work and I couldn’t just grab it as it came in as I did in the past. Probably 4 months later I was laid off. I was also mid 40’s. If you are that age or older, get ready. And I was a high performer, great performance reviews always.
