Layoffs announced today
43 more positions chopped today in the ops division. They have until august.
As far as I know this mainly affects Home Office Operations associates. In October an email was sent out to most operations associates (from grade 5 and up) but excluding Canadian Operations and GPs. It’s being called VSP (voluntary severance package) and people had I believe a month to accept the offer. Some associates have already been let go (last year and the beginning of this year). More people will be let go (who accepted the VSP) in July and October for certain. The jargon that is being used for lay offs is “optimization “. So an associate is not being laid off; they’re being optimized. Most operations tasks will be performed by contractors in Hyderabad or/and Bangalore, India.
