Thread regarding Providence Health & Services layoffs

Clinical Pharmacists from Providence Central Refill Department laid off (Portland)

Four clinical pharmacist caregivers (employees) were laid off on Jan 16th 2025, with a claim that the department was being downsized and some roles eliminated. No justification was given for each terminated person's being let go, and several pharmacists were kept on who were also not told why they got to stay. The layoffs were NOT based on seniority. 30 day notice was given and severance offered based on number of years of service. Expect more clinical cutbacks from TB's (the exec responsible) clinical pharmacy departments. Approx 2 years ago, the Prior Authorization department was cut and everyone who worked there was laid off. Employees were lied to and even asked to find ways to decrease pharmacist workload before any of them knew they were helping eliminate their own jobs. This also came after 6 months of pushing large amounts of unpaid OT (due to their exempt salaried status).
