Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Mechanical

MSO craft has taken over 9414 over most locations by now. Anyone know if this includes outbound departure air brakes and PTC test? Also, how did this takeover affect the other crafts. Post your cons and pros here. Thanks!

It’s totally affecting us all! We can’t even find a locomotive that can be a leader anymore. Everything is falling apart and should be condemned!

The pros are that at least machinist won’t be changing brake shoes in the dirt like a third world country mechanic. Nothing safe about doing this type of work when you have a pit designed for this type of work just a few feet away from the shop.

Cut, cut, cut but they just can’t seem to figure out how to keep the power running without qualified people. It’s going to get worse before they fire Vena.

I can't see any pros of taking away work from one group of people and giving it to another that already has their own work to do. The cons would be even more people losing their jobs and cutting costs to benefit the shareholders. Unfortunately it's probably going to get much worse for the foreseeable future. The munchkin in Omaha is going to cut and gut where he can to make good on his BS promises to the shareholders. This really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, especially considering that's exactly what he did the first time he was here. It's not surprising that he magically vanished just before the sh1t hit the fan. He made wide and deep cuts anywhere he could, closed locations, scuttled or mothballed equipment, and didn't give one F about it. In the end, Fritz is the one who lost his job because of the decisions this id--t made. Fritz was no saint by any means, but the first run-in with the federal government over service issues was directly because of Vena. Vena needs to go NOW! I see larger cuts and consolidations happening this year. I'm only saying that because of the supposed mandatory retirement age of 65. That is something between the UP and the SEC apparently. Yes it is true, and yes you can look it up just like I did. When he gets close to leaving the company for good, that's when we'll see even bigger changes happening much quicker in an effort to get the stock price as high as possible, just before he leaves, so he can sell what shares he has in the company for a higher profit. Anyways that's just my opinion.

No it doesn't include outbound jobs. I don't agree with it.
