Rockwell Automation should eliminate its DEI-focused hiring practices and prioritize hiring the most qualified individuals for each position, rather than selecting candidates based solely on fulfilling diversity quotas. The company’s foundation is on unstable ground, and it must take action to stop the decline. A significant number of experienced and highly talented employees are leaving Rockwell Automation. This may seem extreme to some, but the situation is dire—Rockwell Automation is in serious trouble and rapidly losing strength.

The problem with RA is not DEI, you MAGA a-s hats, it's the fact that the company share ownership is institutional investment companies. It has been this way since Rockwell International bought AB. Quarterly returns and whims rule the day. There is no long term strategy in place. Thanks to a strong NA channel and a few good HW products, RA has not been sold for parts, yet...

From my time working at Rockwell as a Gen Z employee, DEI has not much to do with poor performance. The company lost touch with its products and engineering. Top management thinks about EPS, Excel, outsourcing, etc.
Rockwell is not able to provide the market with innovative and competitive products anymore. There is also a lack of tech focus - they develop too many things at once, without strategic vision.

DEI is a distraction adn one of many Blakes examples of incompetence. A business exists to deliver profit. Blake is stupid. Becky is a dolt And most current leaders are caught in a trap of could be better but dont talk.

Check any executive leadership of the most successful companies they don't look like Rockwell Automation.

I’ve been with Rockwell for almost 34 years, primarily in Engineering. There's been a lot of discussion about DEI and box-checking, and I’ve witnessed people getting positions simply because they met a diversity requirement. Unfortunately, I've seen this happen at multiple levels within the company. Blake Moret has surrounded himself with "yes" people who won't challenge him, and there have been individuals in high positions for checking a box, Gina C. and Vena L., for example, and they had very poor track records.

Instead of attacking each other, we need to focus on the root cause: Blake Moret and his executive team are responsible for where Rockwell is today. I’m particularly frustrated with the minimal pay raises I’ve received over the past decade—my highest was 2.7%, and the lowest was 1%. As a highly skilled engineer, one of only three at Rockwell worldwide with my specific expertise, people have told me to "get with the times" or "improve my skills." But I challenge anyone to do my job—you can’t, and neither can AI or outsourcing to India.

After 34 years of dedication, these should be my highest-earning years, but that's not the reality. Meanwhile, my nieces and nephews are starting their first jobs out of college earning within $30-40k of my salary. They aren’t doctors or lawyers, either. I won’t be staying much longer. And for anyone who thinks the "global voices survey" will address their concerns, be aware that HR filters out what they don’t want Blake to hear, and they only pursue superficial changes that benefit the company.

Finally, Blake Moret earning $16 million last year is outrageous. My advice: leave this company while you still can.

Be it DEI hires or NOT DIE hires…
Many, if not most, of the NA roles (NA remote roles in particular ) will be outsourced to lower cost countries, i.e. India.

I like the person that actually came with facts - and leadership happens to be very white and male.
For the people blaming Rockwell’s current situation on DEI: What have you done to make yourself more viable for the role? Have you ever asked yourself what qualifications and credentials the person that got hired has that you don’t?

I think the title of this thread should be changed to “I didn’t spend enough time or effort building the skills I need for the job and now I’m mad because a brown person was hired instead of me”.
Stop complaining and put in some effort to upskill yourself!

You kids can argue all day, but the fact remains: Blake has to go due to the poor decisions he's made as CEO. Scott G. should be shown the door, along with half of Blake's other cronies. Tessa M. isn’t ready to lead this company. The company needs someone like Jane Barr, who has a stronger understanding of what’s necessary and the direction it should head.

I disagree. Many individuals have been hired or promoted into managerial roles and higher positions simply to meet diversity quotas, rather than being the best fit for the job. As a result, RA is a weaker company, and this is a contributing factor. Over the next few years, there is likely to be a mass departure of highly skilled engineers retiring, which will leave RA in a much more difficult position with all that expertise walking out the door. Yes, there are other issues at RA, like Blake wanting the company to resemble a Microsoft-style model. However, RA was built from the ground up on hardware components, and to this day, that’s still where the majority of its revenue comes from.

Right!!!! Because all RA’s problems rely solely on those pesky DEI hires that make decisions without getting approval or any betting of a white men. Yes, I said men because even white women are DEI hires for some commenters. Are you F kidding me?? I’ve read lots of vitriol about DEI posts but this one makes me crack.
The reason why positions aren’t filled might be because there is an unqualified person not approving those? Or perhaps the person promoting is unqualified itself? Last time I checked there is very little indication that there is a diverse leadership workforce in fact I dare to say it’s almost non existent. Or that real fact also hurts some of you? Does your comfort white men bubble of competence and “merit” base gets to be uncomfortable by some push of a change? Give me a break!! Enough!

Even if RA started hiring today, it would likely take 5 years to get back on track, but with all the retirements that are expected in the next 5 years, it will realistically take 10 years to recover.

DEI needs to stop - When DEI is better policy than most qualified in hiring. Grooming individuals to advance WHEN qualified to promote is way to go, not putting unqualified in positions because of race, color or other reason.
