Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

What is the severance if you get laid off in February?

Would you figure it would be the same around last August/Sept? This is for the Splunk side anticipating a layoff

  • 2 months because of the WARN act (1 month as of notice, 1 more month)
  • 3-4 months severance if you sign a waiver
  • Are all RSUs lost or might there be any acceleration?
  • I guess you get your March vest
  • Basically, whatever the half year bonus will also be gone
  • June deferred cash vest (from RSUs converted) = gone?

Thank you.

RSU's are not accelerated. You only get what vests prior to the termination date. The rest disappear. It's the reason why Cisco has moved primarily to an RSU-Based merit promotion program. They can make you feel like you got a large raise without actually giving you one, and then take the money right back when they lay you off.

SLT inferred half of what last LRs dispersed. Cisco is cash sore despite the perception they like to project.

2024 was: 2 months transition, 4 months severance, 4 months Cobra & 1 week severance for years of service over 10 years.

Seems like getting the severance and looking out somewhere else is the best option!
