Over 200 people lost their jobs in Phoenix last week. So I guess it’s not over yet. If you have been hearing anything or have some substantiated information, please share. It’s better to be somewhat prepared.

More layoffs since January?
I have colleagues that seems to be having big backer from the higher ups.. always not available when needed.. always away atleast for 2 hours and pretending to work on something during team meetings. I wonder how that kind of work ethics is being allowed. Never imagined that good performing people will be let go instead of them.

The place is a toxic sewer of bullies and inexperienced so called leaders. Micromanagement is never ending and demoralizing. I am at the point where I would volunteer to be laid off. IT leadership is non-existant and nepotism abounds. Manage up, tell stories, kiss a-s thenturn around and tell your people they need to a better job because their manager called them out on something, give me a break. Time to clean out the middle managers and let the real people lead. I am sure the IT re-org wil be the same old, same old.
My division has an in person “business” update tomorrow morning… just received the invite 4pm.
Was this in addition to the layoffs that Albertsons did on January 13th & 14th?
Vivek wants a 90% corporate workforce that is based overseas. It'll be in phases, once the new oversea workers get trained up, the next cuts on US workers will happen. Wash, rinse, and repeat.
Just the 1.5 billion a year in operational savings mentioned on the earnings call. These cuts barely scratch the surface of that.
What makes you guess it’s not over?
Heard another 500 all the way down to store level but who knows right now. I doubt it’s done
