Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

CNRL buying Kearl

CNRL is buying Kearl - heard this rumour multiple times over the last decade.

Is it any different this time?

With so much cost cutting and head count reduction in Kearl, I wonder if this is to jack up the profit margin to get a better price. And, all the people that ExxonMobil like have been pulled out of the asset, is it to prepare for the separation??

Does anyone here have the inside scoop??

Someone needs to make the sale to Suncor successful asap. Otherwise, the whole op will shut down due to lack of profitability.

It wouldn't surprise me.
Why would any company want to invest in "The people republic of Canada" under the Woke Liberals?

Believe it or not it will actually be Suncor buying Kearl.

CEO knows Kearl well and it will keep the upgraders full.

Plus imagine the AHS learnings they can take!

Exxon has been riffing itself of assets for years and shifting them to other areas. It would not surprise anyone if they pulled out.
