Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Work load is a joke and always an inch from a big failure on somehting if things go wrong.

After LR's the amount of things piling up and being missed is nuts. Im not working harder and faster and longer because they let so many people go. I was already doing more before all this now its just silly. All the talk about taking on more for our team as a whole and thinking we really can is just a joke now and Im sick of hearing it. If our customers knew what its really like behind the scenes they would run away. Let AI do this sh-t if its so awesome.

On the high end the customers know exactly what is going on behind the scenes, having been on site to witness the how such failures are created and even presenting at all hands failing to teach Cisco how to improve. They also know they have to test "FCS" images for a year or more because Cisco can neither make stuff work nor test it well enough to see that it doesn't. Over the decades they've seen Cisco's competitors up close, often with ex-Cisco employees, sc--wing up as well.

At least on the software side networking never attracted real talent, hence the objectively low software quality even in the 1990s when Cisco's stock was skyrocketing.

Solution is very easy. You start laying off managers, and give them an option to become individual contributor if they have the skills. Else, out the door.
