Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

From a multi decade Veteran - Cisco is not your Family. You may, and hopefully do, work with people that you do great things, become friends, and count on each other - BUT the company is SINGULARLY beholding to QUARTERLY EARNINGS.

Even if you work for a great boss, and while Cisco has many and their numbers decrease YoY, they maybe your Mentor, your Advocate, your Fan, but they are NOT your Family.

The point I'm trying to make is - don't confuse business with family. While you may have a boss that is appreciates you they may/will/can be put in a position that regardless of all that you have done - you are just a number to their boss, or bosses boss, or ....

This is no family. Would you tell your family they have to shoot an unproven dr-g into yourself to stay in the family. Not even a little push back, no one given health or religious grace - ZERO. Would you tell them unless you believe johnny is jenni you are out. How about telling them if they can turn their color green they can manage your finances, security, and health. I don't care how qualified you are and that you were a garbage man before. Nope, not even close to family.

Cisco isn't family, unless you consider people that stab you in the back family! What a horrible place to work. I don't know how the ELT sleeps at night with all the lies they tell and people they take advantage of. It's only a matter of time until they get some serious legal challenges. A lot of people will benefit if we Cisco gets a class action lawsuit due and we laid off a lot of workers over 55 and tried to pretend age and stock options wasn't the reason, but it was.
