Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

If not Hess then Apache? Or Both?

Is the Chevron purchase rumor? Lies? or too early to be sure?

SR himself told folks (proudly w a smirk), "we are purposely over-leveraged. we cannot be bought out...".
Take that as the truth.

I would guess Chevron would not move on APA.

  1. Chevron have long been recognized as a smart acquirer of assets. They do not over pay. IF they did go for APA, they would only offer ~ 10% over current $23 +/- stock
  2. APA has way too much debt
  3. What would APA bring to the Chevron table?
  4. JC would not be offered a significant role within Chevron and he would hate that.
  5. JC is too young to cash out just yet.
  6. JC and MM would not be allowed to have their wine purchases / collections delivered to the Chevron corp HQ.

Could someone else come along at 25-27 a share? Possibly but not Chevron IMO

There is a reason why Apa being relatively cheap nobody has bought it yet, no credibility after AH.

Why would we get a new EVP legal who just went thru a sale of her company. I think something is surely up unfortunately.

No one is buying Apache change of control, liabilities, and debt. Apache is going to shed off its most productive leases one by one and then let the state deal with the burden.
