Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Pretty sure I will never get laid off

I have been with the company almost 20 years and am pretty sure I will never be laid off. My boss constantly changes our teams job descriptions and projects to ensure they appear very important and indispensable. He is good at making our results seem amazing, unless someone looks in more detail at them (which they never do).

Plus there is always another person on the team thats more of a target - with higher wages (mine are lower than others), or more junior / less competent employee.

Something to be learned there?

This post is like an episode of the Office. Or you’re the guy from Office Space and they haven’t taken your stapler, stopped paying you and moved you to the basement yet lol.

That’s what Xerox is. The OG of Office episodes.

You know it’s bad when their careers page has a link for laid off employees. If that’s not a red flag I don’t know what is.

We are absolutely ranked. While the department remains open, OP is probably correct that they will have a job. OP may be more valuable to their VP than others because he probably does a great deal of their work. It's still adviseable to revamp the resume. There will come a time when OP can't take the resentment from teammates that he/she is always getting saved. Or when they will just be done.

Trying to Bamboozle us all. Nope.

Karma will eventually catch up with you, long before you can open a golden parachute. 🪂

Your boss would leave you in a New York minute, and let you and your team be the scapegoats. Po-p always rolls downhill.
Many of you should remember that…

Lol i find that really funny cause meanwhile in the office here they just laid off someone who has worked here for over 30 years. The fact of the matter is we are ALL on the chopping block if you are not one of the elite i would take a slice of humble pie and just continue doing my job. Every manager is changing job positions and job duties to make their team seem useful we recieved three changes in 1 month and we are about to go through another change at the end of this month! just refresh your resume and prepare for the worst tbh if i get laid off i will prolly take a vacation and some extra naps.

Yes, there is something for you to learn. You couldn’t be more wrong. This exact thinking will leave you shocked and unemployable when it happens. Pull your head out…
