Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Public Sector LRs to be massive

You heard it here first. Public Sector to be dealt largest LRs in history in the February layoffs. Entire teams will be eliminated for BDUs, CX, Marketing. Best news is that Public Sector SLT will also be hit, eliminating the tremendous waste caused by the useless old boy network su-king Cisco $$ down the toilet. Plans are for what remains of Public Sector to be completely folded into a new organizational structure that will be announced end of fiscal year. Long overdue.

Cisco drunk the DEI koolaid.

Cisco's software quality has been garbage for over 30 years. Everyone here complaining about DEI is far too stupid to understand that DEI didn't start by traveling back in time 25 years to create that level of quality so by definition the whiners are not here based on merit.

The bloodbath is in the many layers of management/overhead. ICs will not be cut, but middle management will be big time. GS couldn’t believe how bad the span of control was.

Cisco work for Federal will be dropping off a cliff. Cisco drunk the DEI koolaid. It is not possible for them to backtrack on that. A textbook example of why Cisco leadership must be non-political.

Now all of us get to pay the price with even more layoffs in the future. Thanks a lot Robbins.

Yes, Cisco is considered a federal contractor and yes is subject to the EO. The better question is what are DOGE's preferred vendors, and if Cisco isn't one them, now those Federal contract renewals are questionable.

Is there any actual evidence that federal contracts are under scrutiny due to the new administration and that Cisco is actually going to make changes to the DEI roles here or is that just speculation? I know government is being cleaned out but I havent seen anything related to private companies with fed contracts being pressured.

Public Sector covers government and education. Education is a dying market and Cisco has been losing major ground in Federal, especially defense. So the coming bloodbath is not totally unexpected.
