EV and AV are Rube Goldberg machines. Appear to do a better job than conventional means, only from a distance. When you actually try to use them, they are more costly in terms of financials and human toll.

Non discrimination is a good thing. Make decisions based on merit without considering race in any way

But DEI is discrimination and needs to go

If you discriminate in FAVOR of one group you discriminate AGAINST all other groups.

The EV genie died for me when one of the designers of the EV-1 told me the 1,175 lb battery pack only held the energy equivalent of 1/2 gal of gas.
And I am 100% in favor of electric drive in autos only with onboard ICE power generation.
Batteries will NEVER meet the power demand.
The weight savings by removing the short lived, toxic batteries, lack of transmissions and powertrain components will make EV's land based rockets.
And the sad thing is GM owned it with the Volt and Mary p*ssed it away.

It’s a good thing and the only ones impacted will be the ones that can’t scale them. Pretty much every legacy. Maybe Gm can rebadge Hyundai EVs

Trump Ends 1965 Executive Order from Lyndon Johnson that Began Affirmative Action in U.S. Govt

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday rescinding President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Executive Order 11246, which mandated government contractors take affirmative action.

The order more broadly ceases diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) “discrimination in the federal workforce, and in federal contracting and spending,” the White House noted.

The federal government’s hiring practices will now be merit-based, with employees being rewarded for “individual initiative, skills, performance, and hard work.”

Had to happen eventually. Imo you can’t force consumer sales via executive orders in the US. It was only a matter of time before the system corrected itself.

If folks are let go (and hopefully not) the departments that are thinned out or eliminated will speak quite a bit imo about the company’s true strategy.
