Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

US Commercial LRs

There will be some LRs in February but the bigger LR is coming at start of FY26. Area, Operation and Region consolidation which will result in LRs at every level. AVPs, ODs, RMs, AE, SEDs, SSEMs, SEMs, and SEs will be impacted. There are way too many regions. Some of those regions will be absorbed into other regions as they have done in the past. We have had it happen multiple times here in the East.

Isn’t Central the area that has finished last each year. Our AVP tells us that we are either 1 or 2 every FY but Central is always at the bottom of the list. Maybe Central AVP needs to stop defunding events to go see his favorite team in London and actually fund events and activity that drives pipeline and bookings so he is not last every year. It is not that hard Central AVP. Being in leadership means you put the business first instead of your personal agenda. I am glad I am not in Central. What a tool.

They need to LR our AVP in Central who defunded events so he could use the budget to go see his favorite team in London. Most in the Central field know this. He does not even live in our area.

When Cisco had offices in the field and sales people had meetings in those offices it carried a little weight to have regions within a smaller geo. Those days are gone and we even have ODs not even within their operations footprint. So why have a region with 5 direct reports and operations with 3 regions. If you are GS you look at this and go why? RMs have little influence on deals and ODs zero. My .02 is GS makes little to zero changes with front line teams but consolidates at the region and operation level.

Doesn’t matter what kind of leader you are with a consolidation like this. GES went through it last year and lost arguably their best OD. It’s all about location.

GS will not be ready before 2H so he is going to do it at start of FY26. It will be a wake up call especially for some of the Area and Operational leaders who are nothing more than news reporters and have no idea on how to lead. US Commercial has been identified as a needing change. GS will be putting real leaders into these positions, both sales and engineering.
