Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Before the Train Wreck

I’m planning a separate thread that contrasts the day I was hired to the day I was layoff 40 years later! Stay tuned!

Fantastic topic in 3M’s career experience decline. Sprinkled with facts, data, anecdotes and humor. It will be like Animal House, only funnier!

Yes, I’m writing a book to makeup for my pension and 401k losses.

They say when you squash something, you see what’s really inside. agreed, we’re in a tough spot, but I expected to see sweetness and understanding, not a flaming manure pile!

There is no substitute for following the golden rule. Regardless of how corporate officials may act, individuals do not have to disrespect one another. I see this as a major problem in our country, that people have come to believe that nobody gives a darn about them. This has led to chronic loneliness and probably in some cases loss of life. There’s no need to be hateful. Haters are the pathetic ones.

Kind of pathetic IMO. I also left under duress after decades. For some reason people think 3M is some special company that should treat people as family or something...not like a capitalist enterprise which is all it is. No one other than you cares about your story.

You sure sound angry and bitter. No need to express yourself yourself in a hateful manner. Chill 💊 time.

Your snide “Moni” comment is not appreciated. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the entire senior “leadership” team needs to go. No exceptions, no alibis, no excuses!

I love the playbook. MR’s go-to buzzword. He’s been running the same playbook since 2018 and the only plays in the book appear to be (1) destruction of shareholder value; and (2) layoffs. Maybe the new play is the Hail Mary - spin-outs and break-ups. Time for a new coach and offensive and defensive coordinators with a new playbook.

Complete garbage of a thread. Nobody cares about your 40 years except you. This company is unfortunately diseased with “the i have 30+ years of experience therefore im special” numbskulls. If you didn’t expect change u must be very dim.

Can't wait to hear the comedy of errors that led to this great company's decline.

I can recall so many buzzwords, it is funny to recall them all. The first one I remember circa late 80s. Paradigm shift. Then later core competency. Somewhere along the way eliminate the defect (mcnerneys 6 sigma). Now it's A3M and the playbook.
