The IT organization is broken, plain and simple. Leadership? Nonexistent. Management? A joke. DMs? Pathetic. Performance? Abysmal. And frankly, where the staff are based doesn’t matter one bit. This is a global issue for IT that needs to be addressed now. There are people in Houston who are allowed to show up once a month, like that’s acceptable. Favored people can disappear for six weeks or more, leaving a gaping hole. We’ve got a middle management team of sycophants who are more interested in cultivating loyalists and saving their own skins rather than holding people accountable.
And then there’s this nonsensical post from OP complaining that US IT staff aren’t allowed to slack off like the ones in the Philippines. This is a business, not a playground. There’s a fundamental lack of discipline here, and it’s crippling us.
When is LC going to wake up and take action? When is someone going to clean house, set the damn expectations, and create a high-performance culture? This is not how we win. IT needs to be staffed with a team of disciplined, accountable individuals who show up, are engaged, and get things done. IT leadership should be held to the highest standards.
