RTO is coming back for all job grades in the next 2-3 months. Expect 3 days in the office, no exceptions. Most likely announced during Q1 Earnings.

"Shut it down Brown" has been CEO almost 9 months. Will he announce a bold plan that lives up to his reputation or will this continue to be a slow bleed?

No more growth or innovation for 3M, just a controlled liquidation. Horrible leaders here.

“DEI hire” is a disparaging term that refers to quotas or targets for hiring racial and ethnic minorities, women, and/or people with disabilities for positions of authority and/or power.

Because it refers to all of the above groups, the term “DEI hire” actually implies that only heteros-xual, white men are qualified for such high leadership positions. Indeed, the same people who use the term also tend to extol the idea of “meritocracy.

Me? I'm happy to be mediocre and flourishing member of the 3M family for many more years to come.

I'd rather be mediocre than layed off.

RTO is non-issue child's play compared to the daunting, yet key, return to meritocracy.
How will 3M HR restructure to successfully improvise, Adapt, and Overcome meritocracy?

BB knows that at least 10, probably 15, percent of the US based employees who have been WFH will decide to quit without a severance. Same for Europe, maybe even 20 percent there. This makes his job much easier when he either finds a partner to merge with a BG or does a spin.

Let's face it. With the HCBG spin, 3M is really more like 2M. BB will break the rest up into anywhere from a 0.4M to 0.6M. Probably 4 to 5 pieces.

What is the morale in CRL, particularly in East metro like these days? This group will really bear the brunt of BBs machete job on what's left of this once great company.

Also, has BB found a buyer for Wonewok? Not sure anyone has 10 million or so to spend these days. Maybe Inge buys it at garage sale prices.

Nothing beat the feeling of coming to early morning calls from people from Europe or India just so that they can go to bed early. Paying kids schools for early drop off then sitting in the traffic. What a feeling. Productivity should go through the roof.

What will be the next spin and what are the consequences ?

RTO to get as many to leave on their own, followed by the next spin. 3M will soon be done. There is a reason BB was brought in. 3M, Radio Shack, etc………just memories now

I mean there were exceptions pre-covid, and plenty of teams are geographically dispersed already.

Anyone who thinks we need to be back in the office to increase productivity doesn't understand how a global business works.

Yeah stop coddling and make it 6 days a week work. On Saturdays make people come in to take training classes to be ethical because of all the wrong doings of execs. Cut options and pay to everyone they haven't already reduced and cut. Layoff more people so that you cant get anything done but still hold people accountable to hitting forecasts. Restructure and change the names of things and make different people do the same work. Create more templates and meetings and tell people they will be held accountable and cut their travel and admerch budgets. Raise prices and Ship materials at levels far below customer expected levels. Have antiquated technology in conference rooms that don't work and no place to sit when they come in on those 6 days. If you do these simple things they will come!

How about 5 days. 3M has gotten so weak and politically correct over the last period of time. Stop coddling the snowflakes in the organization

What about all the VPs that moved out of state? Is 3M going to pay their plane and hotels each week for them to go back and forth?

3 days in the office, but that assumes your boss is also in the office. Also assumes there are enough desks for everyone.

This company can't get it together to do anything else; what makes them think they can successfully impose RTO?

Tireman laments not having a jam packed townhall. He's Billy Boys chum and righthand man.

Thankfully I retired a few years ago and missed the further destruction of this once great industry icon.

Hey Pete, how much scotch on the rocks have you had already. It's gonna be a bone chilling weekend
