I’ve seen this one too many times. Reorg gets announced > people panic > reorg commences > I don’t lose my job > everything returns to normal. Based on m that, everything will be fine because I NEVER lost my job. Why would it happen now? Continue to work hard and be irreplaceable because they will always need someone to run the Chevron gas station in my little town.

Gotta love the comments from people below who took the post seriously. Priceless!
His long ternured is exemplified with turditude.
I have experienced the same thing! They get rid of all these people, especially all those younger than me. They always say I’m too valuable! Pretty cool!
What's "ternure"
OP, you’re exactly the kind of employee that it happens to. You’re complacent and overconfident and ripe for the picking so start boxing up your stuff, buddy.
this is NOT like every other time. there is a lot more going on than just a reorg. some people prefer to filter information and keep doing what they’re doing. Moving jobs to lower cost geographies - not just India- changes how long you’ll be able to work at Chevron unless you are located in a lower cost geography. All types of roles up and down can be done in any location. no job is safe
You had me until the last sentence :D
Cause you're a long-tenured employee. That means you're old. And expensive. You're getting severance this time around. GL!
