Thread regarding Rockwell Automation Inc. layoffs

Has Rockwell outsourced jobs to India recently?

I've noticed a growing trend of engineers working remotely from India. With the ongoing layoffs, I'm concerned that many jobs will be outsourced offshore. Does anyone have any insights or thoughts on this topic?

Many recently created roles be located in India and other lower cost location.

Most of the engineering, customer care, IT, remote technical support, etc. roles are good candidates to be outsourced to India.

I am so glad to be retired!

Unfortunately, it seems that all NA remote roles will likely be outsourced to India or other low cost location.

Practically all of the “non customer facing” roles such as engineering, customer care, technical support, engineering, etc can be and will be outsourced to the lower labour cost location (India)

Let us wait and see what the new administration brings.

With the constant trickle of layoffs, offshore seems to be the big trend. The main NA people left either work on BSRs for months which no one but VPs see and accomplish nothing or prep for AutoFair which makes Blake feel all warm n fuzzy but doesn’t create any real leads. (Or HR firing folks). Europe has better employee protection, so I assume they’re safer. Don’t expect job security in MKE or CLE!

I was a US employee on a global team - the only US employees left after three layoffs are in Management. No one from the “low cost” regions were affected. I saw it coming. I am in a much better place now. Very toxic culture - I had been a very proud RA employee - it was once a great company.

Yes this is an active talent management strategy and encouraged cost control measure at Rockwell. Except we are not outsourcing to another company in India we are backfilling and hiring directly in India (and other low cost regions like Poland, Mexico, India, Brazil, DR, Philippines.) This is sanctioned by HR and Finance also pretty common in most corporations. Take a look at the job posting locations on our website for perspective on size. If you need to hire someone at RA you will need to create an exhaustive business case to prove it should be US based.

Rockwell choose to move a lot of production of hardware to Monterrey Mx and the India facility is going to manufacture Kinetix drives. Lets not talk about the massive amount of quality issues that now exist because of that decision by Blake to move manufacturing outside the USA. Rockwell has always used India RA people as a 'cheaper' engineering solution. This is common in a lot of industries, but other companies also have engineering people in the USA as well. This is a way that company can get people working on a projects 16 hrs out of 24 hrs in a day. A very smart move for a company todo. But Blake choose to pocket his own pocket and he doesn't give a hoot about any RA employees in the USA. If you are not in the upper inner circle of Blake's, we are all SOL... Blake and Scott and Becky all need to go!!!! Tessa the future CEO of RA, she is clu-e-lessss.....
