Nobody would mourn losing this job if the job market were in better shape and the standard of living was stable. Unfortunately, losing any job these days is a significant blow. I sincerely hope that everyone affected finds a better opportunity soon and ends up more satisfied with their new company than they could have ever been here.

I’m so sorry for all the people let go! I agree the management is the worst it’s ever been! Worst run company ever! Good luck to all of you! Actually the ones left behind are the ones that will need help, horrible mgmt and now more work put on them!
I am so glad I left last year, after working for Amanda's org i was glad to leave that toxic environment.
If you were part of the RIF yesterday, contact your financial advisor ASAP and move your 401K account to a self funded IRA. MY 401K has lost a lot of value in the past few years.
Windstream sent out a meeting invite yesterday 1/14 "Important Company Announcement" to about 10 people on our team. HR came on and stated "All your jobs are being eliminated" That's it.... No stability in companies any more... you must play the same game by your rules and always look.
Same story, same results.
I was laid off yesterday after 23 years. It is heartbreaking. Prayers to all those impacted.
I just got laid off . Thank you for your kind post
If you're not currently looking for another job , you should. Windstream is going to continue to lay off until it's gutted. It's a matter of time before your number is called. If you haven't updated your resume and if you haven't already sent it out for potential jobs, You're not doing yourself a service. I don't know how anyone could not be seeking another job, at this stage of the game.
No layoffs in unions
It's sad and pathetic this company has so many good people they let go. Yet they retain the worst leadership that have no idea wtf they're doing or what most people that work for them even do for the company.
Almost 25 years down the drain. Wishing good luck to all my coworkers. This will be so bad!
No one is safe. The layoffs are going to continue until they're down to nothing. Do yourself a favor and research your benefits from Windstream, so when you get laid off, you'll know what to expect.
Miserable experience for everyone involved
I second that comment. The ship has been sinking for many years, the sails adjust whichever way the wind blows, we have mates in leadership positions that have no respect for the challenges of field sales (most don't even know the systems let alone the problems), and the Captain(s) of this ship have not had a true North compass for 10 years.
Passengers, the skills you have gained in such a competitive, unstable environment will serve you well in your next chapter. I have had friends tell me they never knew how bad we had it until they landed their next job. Make no mistake, the grass IS greener on the other side.
