Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

DAMN!!! How many people took the VRP?

Everyday I talk with another person who took the VRP. How many people took it and who will be left? Does leadership even care about the tribal knowledge leaving? This is crazy! On Feb 9th, this place will be a ghost town.

I took it. Was going to work until end of 2025 when pensions will no longer be funded. BTW, check your state rules for unemployment, in some states, Illinois being one of them, you can collect even with a severance package.

There are a lot of positive benefits of working at a company where no one cares, so please don't sell PEP short

I was already in the process of accepting a role in a new company, so when VRP was offered I leapt at the opportunity.

Believe me when I say there is life outside of Pepsi.

After 35 years I took it. I was only going to work through Dec '25 anyway due to the pension freeze.

I'm so glad I left in November in that round of vrp. 33 years and they gave me pizza as a parting gift. Working weekends and holidays for 33 years...pizza. I hope they all burn in he!!

I took the VRP because of career stagnation, lack of innovation, and the end of company pension contributions. Why keep doing more for less?

Nobody cares about knowledge transfer or getting the job done right or taking care of employees and customers. Just get it done as cheap as possible without a total meltdown. This company is a cash pump for our rich c suite players.

so long as the folks who keep the chips and soda on store shelves are still around, everyone else is overhead and expendable.

That’s the idea, cull as much of the herd as possible and let whomever is left pick up all the slack. It’s the PepsiCo way!
