SSS Job is Safe Forever

SSS has the most secure job in the store. Not only does it require more skill and experience than any other position, the store would literally cease to run if they got rid of that position. Most SSS I know are over worked and under paid. If we didn’t print and audit tags, set up holiday tables, and stay on top of emails the stores would fall apart. Do me a favor and thank your SSS next time you see them. Your job wouldn’t exist if we didn’t do ours.

It's been a good 5 years since I left WFM but I had worked at many store and most of the SSS just complained how busy they always were as the handed the tags off to the real workers in the store and then the SSS would just go back to talking about their day to anyone who would listen

If you are not stocking product your role could be cut at anytime. Let’s not pretend the majority of leadership roles are a joke as well.

Haha, yeah right. At my store they don't print or audit anything. Buyers and team members are trained how to do it. Our SSS guy is basically a glorified custodian/cashier. They had him cleaning the breakroom fridge the other day. Don't kid yourself, this position is not long for the world.

It's already been said but all the complainers are trained monkeys who don't have a set schedule like any other position in the store. Like my home girl Taylor Swift said, haters gonna hate

What roles do all the complainers about the SSS do on here?

The majority of the jobs in the store can be done by a trained monkey. The majority of the employees for the company fall into trained monkey territory of job functions which isn’t a bad thing since they are the ones that generate all the money.

SSS just to be clear. Follows a schedule to audit, prints tags, does audits, follows a map given by global, thats more skillful than stl? This can be done by a trained monkey. No offense. All sss i knw just milk the clock.

If you are focused on the SSS being an issue in the stores you are clearly an id--t and deserve the misery of working in retail. If you are looking for somebody to bi--h or be pi---d off about look at global leadership.

SSS is a support for the teams but since everyone has their head up there a-s they don’t realize the role helps them.

I am sick and tired of folks saying SSS will be laid off along with buyers. Are you kidding? Buyers will be long gone before they can even think about automating an SSS job. We are basically STLs with more technical skills and responsibilities.

OK… do you feel better now that you’ve justified your job to yourself?
The SSS position has very little responsibility and is easily replaceable by having the teams print their own sales tags.

No job is safe have you not all noticed that there is little to no concern about anything anymore? SSS could be cut at anytime and they would just dump the work on the teams. And if they eliminate the role do you think they are going to redistribute the labor to facilitate the teams to do what the SSS had done prior?
