Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

UK Layoffs

It’s in the process. Announcement in Feb. Pretension of consultation emails and associated song & dance farce including crocodile tears and “Change is the only constant” BS till April, and then the chop. CP and DM had demanded names prior to the holidays and have now decided. As a first line manager, I suspect I am on the list. Bad vibes. Good luck everybody.

I do not understand the constant complaining in UK org
Life is simple
If you like what you do, or find the circumstances tolerable, stay

If you do not , be creative find a way to scale , have fun, be more effective

If the above is not possible leave

Life is not this difficult

Start with cleaning the toxic waste: Fire CP. And the babbling pout. And all the SEMs CP picked when he pushed out loyal, hardworking, dedicated folks. And LR the other cronies of them. Clean it, with bleach . Otherwise the amount of cr&p that CP and others have harvested here will never go away completely. The st!nk is too prevailing .

DM is no longer in the UK
Quite literally does not live on the same continent, people need to move on....

LRs are coming
Once again 1 month consultation and offices become morgues
H2 starts off with negativity amazing

DM ruined the UKI market, business and culture for Cisco by imposing draconian rules. He promoted CP, a worthless marketing clown to an SE director and Sr. twice in a year - someone who had never managed an SE team before. And CP destroyed a thriving SE tech team via bullying and promoting nepotism because he was protected by DM and WM ( Wendy) turned a blind eye while serially promoting a fitness instructor on company calls. Calling it ridiculous is an understatement . This is why UKI business has gone down the drain. Team members of team with record breaking revenues in calendar years weee either LRed or pushed out by CP. All under DM’s watch. Lies, false promises, patronising speeches and gaslighting - he standardised all of those.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but by DM are you referring to David Meads, if so, he's gone and has nothing to do with the UK anymore. And a note on him, he knows Cisco, knows Cisco and understands what a realmsales org is and h9w to build one.

They can always lay off DM and CP as said by someone else. Them and their bunch of cronies, excel expert, technically zero SEMs add nothing of value to the company. Lay them off and I promsie you, no one will notice a difference for the worse.

Who else are they going to cut any more in the UKI? BDL is empty these days as it is.

First line manager is a very risky proposition at Cisco (and practically anywhere)

You don't have any real management responsibility, that much is obvious. Doing 1:1s and talking to your team about the fake feedback provided on an "anonymous" survey isn't real management

They also aren't making technical contributions anymore - reading PRs is not the same as writing them

How do you tell your own manager they have made a terrible career decision?

All directors and above should also go. They su-k the money out of system and too expensive.
