Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Buried in work chaos

I’m swamped. Over the last year, we’ve lost so many team members. Some of them were let go, others were smart enough to jump ship. Instead of hiring help, their tasks got dumped on the rest of us, and we were already running on fumes. Now it’s so overwhelming that those of us who remain are also thinking of leaving, whether we have another job lined up or not. If their plan was to push us out, I guess it’s working.

I've posted before about the danger of willingly picking up work leftover from fired or departed employees. This is a scare tactic that GE flunkee Jim Mcnerney brought in his "tool box" along with discriminatory forced ranking, sick sigma, etc.

Never ever do more than 40 hours of work in this environment. If your boss tries to force you to do some extra work, then simply stop doing some of your current tasks if you are forced to do something that was done by a departed soul. If you comply, then they will fire more and give you even more work to do for a measly 2 percent raise. A brave team that does this 40 hour limit will eventually get your boss fired.

No more GE hires ever

Good luck with the job search. Not all companies are like this. You can't keep waiting for things to turn around or get better. Life is too short.
