They contaminated the groundwater with (as I recall) trichloroethane in Manassas, Virginia and were forced to remediate it, a process which continues to this day. There is still an IBM office in Manassas off Wellington Rd (only presence IBM still has in Manassas) where their "Environmental Compliance Manager" works and I believe there is still equipment that pumps groundwater out, treats it, and puts it back in the ground.
Oh my,the stumbled into the spider's nest. This could cost them big time.
