Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Wake up and smell the BS

The lack of intelligence, and worse, complete lack of common sense in the top and middle echelons of Xerox is mind boggling.

There are two sides to every story, but in what side is no vision, accelerated decline, nose diving share prices, terrible customer support and astonishingly poor employee treatment a great idea or positive step?

Current strategy looks like bury your head in the sand, stroke each others egos and pretend it's all going to be ok because it's the Xerox brand...the trouble is no one else has cared about that for at least the past decade.

Here's a unique idea. Foster a working environment which holds on to talented and skilled employees and provides a solid foundation for an improved customer experience with clearly defined offerings....Too simple, thought so!

It's funny how you change the meaning of large and significant. Wegmans is 2-3x Xerox. You on your way to becoming a penny stock. BTW you're next... see you in March.

Why do you stay if it is so bad? I just came back to visit this site after 4 years gone from X. Seems to be the same comments still. I feel bad for the good that are left and I'm not sure how many are left that I know. Haven't kept in touch with anyone, my fault. I left for a whole bunch of reasons but glad I did... was a sleepless weekend decision. I was there 40 years. Shame what happened to this once great company. Scary to pull the trigger but I'm better off. If any of you are in the position to leave, do it... think about it... there is no future successful Xerox... the company you all probably once knew is long gone and is not returning. Good Luck and stop complaining... it's over Johnny.

The simplest way to explain the behavior of any bureaucratic organization is to assume that it is controlled by a cabal of its enemies

"Why would quality leadership talent be attracted to a small cap company in a declining industry?"

Sick retention bonuses and no accountability. It's a little vacation if you are the right level and have nothing to offer.

Really liking the Taco Bell references. Is the message, if you got laid off from Xerox the only viable option is working at Taco Bell? Kind of self deprecating of current Xerox employee: Employment order goes “Tech Giant” (FANG), Finance, Healthcare, Start up, NFP, Arby’s, Xerox, Taco Bell.
Not sure of the order here, Kentacohut parent stock up 31% over 5 years with a small Divvy on the side. What would a Xerox branded Taco look like? What would it do to your digestive system?

You have to stop looking for quality leadership at Xerox. Industry was declining before covid. Now it’s in free fall and objectively Xerox is the weakest player. Why would quality leadership talent be attracted to a small cap company in a declining industry? Acquisitions: Lexmark? Where is the long term stability in this? Millennials are perplexed by the existence of a printer. A chicken rotisserie oven would be more practical. IT company? What customer would allow Xerox to support their network infrastructure? They can’t even support a printer! If Xerox left the IT services company alone to manage itself and untainted by the Xerox logo and sick sigma nonsense maybe they’d have a chance of not being dragged down with x but I don’t see that happening.
If you want quality leadership go to a successful Company in a growth industry. Otherwise put up with it and ride it out.

Someone hit a nerve. That's a lot of assumptions you made right there about who this was, where they work and in what department.

You can run a profitable business, the right way and look after staff and customers.

Selling all the core jobs to off shore firms that cannot fulfill the functionality is not streamlining, it's artificially increasing perceived profit by reducing costs for the current quarter.

The share price reactions lately show that investors are onto you.

Worse how? Because they made two large significant acquisitions to ensure our long term survival? Because they are bolstering our presence in Asian countries? Because they are strategically slimming down what was a bloated organization with too many layers? Because they are promoting an “adapt or die” mentality with what we know is a declining industry?

It’s funny how some of you babies view the org. Just because your buddy got let go in the field due to only running an average of 2 calls per day? Just because your buddy in sales got let go that averaged 10k per month? Say what you want, but most decisions that were made in the past two years were necessary. Stop acting like a princess and mad that big bad Xerox got rid of you. It’s a publicly traded corporation . Doesn’t have feelings..doesn’t have a heart. Live with it.

“ You people are unbelievable.”

Some know their comp is so much higher than they could earn anywhere else they have deluded themselves into believing the reinvention fairy tale. I can only think of 3-4 people still working here that I would hire anywhere else. There is zero accountability and people progress based on who they know or how many BS PowerPoint slides their staff can prepare. Their staff, because none of these “leaders” actually work, or can. What makes me laugh the most in the senior meetings is hearing “well who is going to do that?”. One nitwit says the same thing over and over, “what can we do to get this done faster?”. He doesn’t know but asking the question makes him sound so invested….

You people are unbelievable. Xerox is a lost cause completely. You were warned years ago and a lot of people just shrugged their shoulders and ignored the signs. Then came denial. Then depression. Then blame management ideology, or lack there of…

I blame you for not looking out for yourself and your future. It’s not rocket science. It’s laziness and refusal to change, when it’s to your benefit.

If you don’t lookout for yourself and your future, no one else will. But worse if you are in denial that anything is wrong, and you need to make a change, and you refuse to address this…. Well …
Twice nothing is still nothing. ✍️
