It’s the new year, so as Walmart prepares to end its financial year at the end of January….. managers at home office are preparing their lists of who they want/need to be gone by the end of Q1. Some will be gone simply because they are ‘undesirable’. Some will be gone due to past history of poor performance. Some will be gone due to continued outsourcing to offshore (Indian) consultants. Some will be gone because their managers will be forced to give them bad evals, even though their performance was OK. Budgets have already been determined, and along with that, headcount has been determined. It’s just a matter of time now.
If you’re hourly at a store, you’re probably safe. Anyone at HO (regardless of hourly or salary) has good reason to be on edge.
