As an engineer I am shocked to hear how little employees in IT are paid. I don’t understand how any of them are still around. We have some really good people in IT who deserve to be paid much, much more than they are getting. If engineers are underpaid IT employees are really being shafted.

Real ja----s there @obx+1jdN36k9. Maybe if you ignorant tools would learn how to turn on a computer or enable a network or cut old software no one in the industry uses but your grandfather loved you’d have better use or implementations of the sw that we push out.
Management cuts real workers and thus you’re left with the sh---y implementations of service now or tool of your choice.
What did you expect when we are in competition for "talent" from workers in other countries that are thrilled to work for a bowl of rice.

Op here. Talking about what US IT is paid. I would add that while some jobs can be offshored the quality of service has significantly declined due to offshoring. This is why VIPs still have local US based IT support.
35-65K USD in Bangalore and Curitiba is not bad.
