Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Young employees beware

Watch closely how the company and you are treating (or talking about) older employees. You will be an older employee before you know it. Don't want behaviors to repeat, rethink how you view age.

Yes it is quite interesting to watch the same leadership that created and fostered the environment where the current resource issues thrived claims to be resolving the current resource issues by flushing older resources and replacing them with new resources.
The Ford culture is the issue, all the old problems are replicated with new hires.
The Ford culture infected Ford of India, it is a clone of all the Dearborn cultural issues. New hires quickly see the Ford culture and within a few years either quit or follow suit.

Those at the top don’t really want to see the Ford culture change as they themselves would have to change. The only way a true change would occur is if Ford was acquired by another company who then purged 75% of the staff

Its ironic. Old White men (management) bent on ridding the company of old White men.

Ford's leadership is simply a disgrace. Bill Ford will face the shame of eliminating loyal employees based on age and the family's disgusting greed to save a few dollars by not paying pensions.
Keep terminating, laying off, ' involuntary seperation ' all the employees that got the company through difficult times. They are being snapped up by Chinese companies, real tech companies ( i still laugh over the id--t Mark Fields calling Ford a tech company ) and GM ( Jay Leno said it best, its a car company run by people who understand how to build cars ). Folks out of college barely last 2-4 years before leaving for another company and taking with them plenty of knowledge and so-called secrets. Continue to hire rejects from Apple and Tesla and Google and HP. I hate this company, you hurt some really good people. Over the last few years how many tens of thousands have been laid off/ separated/ terminated, now think about where they are and how word spreads how people are treated at FMC.

There used to be respect for your elders in this country, it is sad that is no longer the case. I always showed respect and learned a lot from older people, young people who don't do that are fools.

The worst thing about Ford is the old executives calling workers younger than them too old.
