This is hands down the worst group of people I've ever worked with. I regret joining this division and am having a hard time getting out. People do very little work for tons of money. They also suffer immensely from the Dunning-Kruger effect. This place is making me depressed AF. I hate having to talk to these people every day. 😔 I would volunteer as tribute for severance at this point.

If Tanzu is hiring, it's for two reasons
- They're losing people faster than other BUs
- They're trying to inflate the size before they try and sell it.

That is because what you are working on doesn’t matter to customers, so no need to backfill.
It will just die a slow natural bureaucratic death.

Considering Tanzu is hiring like crazy right now for PM's and dev's I am assuming it is staying. Other BU's are in a complete freeze and they are allowed to backfill.

Exactly. I left the group for greener pastures. Worst professional experience of my life. The inmates are running the asylum.
The fact that we continue to allow a lot of these BUs run as their own, “independent” style shops is horrifying. Adapt to VMw or gtfo…
VMware's strategic relevancy moving forward depends on Tanzu! We can NO longer be a "infrastructure company"!
Everyone that has to work with that division have similar feelings. This malaise there will be addressed
Don't take Tanzu too seriously and don't take these negative comments to heart. Tanzu isn't an intellectual powerhouse and it's sure as he-l not a place of integrity. It's not you, it's the organization.
Hock will figure it out eventually, I bet he will give them a year or so to prove it is a viable product that meets his revenue expectations.
I don’t expect the k8s Tanzu products to turn around at all, so likely you will need to wait up to two more years if you want to keep your current job.
In any case, it sounds like you should be actively thinking of plan B.
