GF is collapsing due to wrong doing of TC.
@dsr I haven’t heard of any managers soliciting here, just a lot of techs/engineers grumbling that they’d love to get laid off with severance.
@cvf did managers openly solicit volunteers? or are people volunteering on their own?

do a layoff anyways that will be done "with respect that they deserve"

Offering packages good but the lead people will take. Not good for company long term.
I’ve seen estimates range from today to January, no idea.
If the number of people interested in volunteering to leave is as big as it seems, GF would be silly not to offer some voluntary package first, but we’ll have to wait for globalcast.
Someone asked the same question on GF current, and LK answered that we'll learn more on December 1st. That's why they make the big bucks ~ excellent communication and messaging. Very helpful.
