I would most rather get a voluntary package and forget about this place. Also I think at this moment most people would be very happy to volunteer. True?
This is the reason why GF does not offer voluntary packages first, because no one wants to be a part of this company that has no future.

It won’t be offered until after layoff it seems and if offered only to 55 plus and probably not everyone 55 plus

@mws this is one of the main reasons silos exist. Fab1 people perfected the practice even with the protections afforded to them. Become an expert in something and keep the information closely guarded.
This resource action will be “focused”. They know exactly what they want to trim. If it were merely a matter of headcount, they’d offer some voluntary packages. I get the feeling it’s going to be entire groups/departments. Those groups/departments functions will be outsourced to and absorbed by existing operations in Asia. If an American worker can work remotely then their job can be performed overseas.
